BRITTANY

Born and raised in Schuylkill County, I grew up in Ringtown but currently reside in Pottsville. After graduating from Cardinal Brennan High School, I attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and achieved my B.S. in Mass Media Arts, Journalism & Communication Studies. Some things I enjoy in my spare time include traveling, reading, photography, and animals. In addition to "Step Up to the Mic" you can catch me Saturday mornings, 10-noon, for the Saturday Morning Oldies Show!
KERRY DOWD

Kerry Dowd join AM-1360 WPPA in June of 2008. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Kerry grew-up in suburban Detroit, MI with her adoptive parents. The journalism bug bit while she was a editor/writer for her high school newspaper. Kerry graduated with a TV/radio news writing degree from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield, MI. While a student, she interned at AM-760 WJR in Detroit which lead to her first producing gig as the weekend local talk program producer. In the fall of 2000 Kerry was offered the news directing position at 102.7 WMOM in Ludington, MI. Shortly thereafter she left for the bright lights of NYC. She worked in the newsroom of 1010 WINS "You give us 22-minutes, we'll give you the World" until the fall of 2003 where she transitioned from radio to TV news. Prior to WPPA, Kerry worked for the Tribune owned Morning Call newspaper in Allentown, PA. Throughout her career Kerry has interviewed numerous celebrities, political figures, athletes, and industry professionals. When she's not "leaning to the left" with her Liberal views, Kerry enjoys exploring Schuylkill County with her husband and two boys, Jonathon and Thomas. You may email Kerry at kdowd@pbcradio.com
JAY LEVAN

Jay graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School and Penn State University. Jay has always had the radio bug, having started at WPPA in 1982 as a part timer. Over the years, he traveled on weekends to Pottsville, Shamokin and Ephrata as a jock while holding down a career in the banking business. While he was rising through the ranks of corporate America, the latent love of working on the air still simmered. In 2004, his dream was realized, being given a full time opportunity in broadcasting. Since then, Jay has become News Director and Operations Manager for WPPA/T102 and Program Director at WPPA. While rising at 3am daily has its challenges, there is nothing more that he'd rather be doing than working at WPPA and T-102. Outside of work, Jay likes to fish, read, and hang out with his sons, Carter and Will, and wife Connie.
PAUL KONKUS

Hello I'm Paul Konkus!  Happy to meet you!  Radio has been a part of my life since I was a young boy.  My earliest recollections and interest in broadcasting came as I listened daily to the "Birthday and Anniversary Calendar" hosted by the late Jim Thompson.  As a youngster, I vividly remember seeing Jim doing a remote broadcast.  You could hear the announcer's voice throughout Robert Hall Clothier's. Coming around a corner, I came directly upon the man whose voice came into our home many times. Almost immediately I knew this is what I also wanted to do.  Eventually, my wish came true!  I had the pleasure to get behind the WPPA microphone.  Sunday's WPPA features polka music which many of the listeners really enjoy.  In recent years we added memory music for those who relate to the so-called "standards" on WPPA's "Soft & Sunday".  As formats continue to evolve, WPPA added a talk show "Step Up to the Mic".  Some days I act as the call screener.  Occasionally I'm invited to act as a member of the show's panel. This is a challenge; requiring me to be "up" on local and ever changing world events.  All-in-all radio for me has been a "life-long dream" come true.  Thanks for listening!

JZ

JZ is a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School.  His love of music and enjoyment of public speaking drew him to radio right out of high school.  He recently celebrated 25 years behind the mic!  When he's not on the air, you can find him announcing Shenandoah Valley Football and Boys Basketball games.  He is also the public address announcer for Marian Fillies Basketball.  Outside of talking on the mic, he enjoys ice hockey.  He plays competitively in Sunbury and Wilkes Barre.  He's also a Philadelphia Flyers fanatic.  JZ is a big Notre Dame Football fan and in baseball, it's the Boston Red Sox all the way!  His music interests include "old-school" favorites such as Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, John Fogerty and of course the "Patron Saint" of the morning show, Eddie Money.  JZ can be heard Monday through Friday on "the Wake-Up Show" starting at 6 AM.
